New opportunities arise as new programs/events evolve. Ongoing opportunities offer flexibility and others require a firm commitment on an ongoing basis. We welcome your application as we offer variety, new friendships, and personal satisfaction while enriching RPL’s reputation as a community treasure.
At certain times of the year, RPL can entertain requests from students who need to perform a specific number of volunteer hours within a certain timeframe. We need two weeks’ notice for these kinds of requests and may not always be able to accommodate them.
In order to volunteer at Rostraver Public Library, anyone who is 18 years of age or older must either have or be willing to obtain the following clearances:
- (Free) Child Abuse History Clearance
- (Free) PA Criminal Record Check

- Help with sorting donated materials and refilling our Used Book Sale shelves
Special Events & Fundraising
- Serve on the Library Bonanza Planning Committee
- Prepare for special events and programs by purchasing refreshments and supplies
- Serving refreshments during/after special events and large library programs
Library Volunteer
- Assist with Library Programs and the Summer Reading Adventure
- “Adopt a Shelf”—General shelf reading, straightening, and dusting in the library
- Garden Club Volunteer
